Birthday Pie or Birthday Cake

I love a good pumpkin pie. Of course most any pie is a good pie. When it is my birthday I always request a birthday pie. Mincemeat, blackberry, blueberry, coconut cream, banana cream, chocolate cream....mmmmmmmm. I love em all.

I think it is a fantastic idea. My husband loves pies, so guess what he will be getting from no on for his birthday. Thanks again for the rating and the idea.

For my birthday I prefer cakes. I like the fluffiness of cake. Pie to me is more for holidays and like random moments. I like chocolate cake with a hint of vanilla mixed in with it. hmm yum. and more people can enjoy a cake opposed to a pie.

At my last place of employment we always did a little something for each other on our birthdays. I was the first to choose a birthday pie! Other people fell in line and we had birthday pies nearly every birthday. The last one we celebrated was in March. I made a pumpkin pie for him at his request. He took the remainder home. It is nice to put a smile on a persons face.

Cakes are boring. Bake em, frost em. With pies you have to put so much more effort into them. They are worth the wait!

I'd be lyin if I said I hate cake entirely. There are times that I love cake. I had some today, but it wasn't great. I love chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. Sooooo gooooood

Being from a large family, 7 kids, I am the oldest, and having 4 kids myself, I decided I had enough cakes. You have them for showers, weddings, birthdays, etc. Why not a pie. How often do you have pie?

I do like ice-cream cakes that have a cookie bottom! Those I never tire of.

I most definately like birthday cake, my favorite is devils food chocolate with chocolate fudge icing, and my second favorite is a Dairy Queen chocolate ice cream cake. I am not a big fan of pie, but do like cheesecake which is like pie to me in a way.....

Funny you should ask. Look at my picture. I am eating lemon meringue pie with a candle on it. Yes, it is my birthday pie, the photo taken by the restaurant. I love pie too. One year for my mother's birthday party we had about five different pies. yes, you can put candles in pies... long thin candles.
I do like cake too. The store bought kind are too sweet though - the icing that is. Home made is better. And ice cream cake is good too.
Well, gee, I just love desserts! Bring on the lemon meringue!

I think that is a neat idea. When I was younger I didnt like cake, I do now, but didn't then. Anyhow, every year on my birthday, my mom would buy a pizza with all of my favorite toppings, and would get a little platter deal for the center, and would my candle on it. That was my "cake". I always loved it.

Those pies most sound good, Don't like mincemeat or banana. For my birthday I'd prefer cake through. Chocalate, Strawberry yum posting and reading this is making me hungry, Going to get cookies.

I never thought of a pie instead of a traditional cake. It's a great idea. I love coconut cream, banana cream, and chocolate cream too.

I like pies, but definitely prefer a chocolate cake for my birthday! Growing up, our middle daughter always like ice cream cakes the best. We'd get them from our local dairy queen. They were good too!
