Do you often have a self talk? (Talking to your self loud)

I do sometimes. when I have something in mind, I talk to myself loud. there was one time my friend heard me talking alone and she asked.. WHAT? I then, realize that people might think that I become weird. But I can't help it when I have something in mine or plan that I am going to make. Same with my hubby. Oh my!! He talks louder than me. As if He is really talking to somebody, as if someone is there when he has his self talk. Sometimes I would check, when he is in the living room or dining room or bathroom he talks loud alone about his plans, what he is going to to do in a day.. then I found out he is alone. when I asked whome he is talking, he just said, MYSELF.. then I burst into laughing. Did you experience the same thing? or maybe some members of your family or your friends? I also observe these to some. They are not talking loud but their lips keeps on moving.. sounds weird? but I've seen it. share you story.

I do have self talk and at times find it to be more interesting and refreshing than talking with someone else. People will think that I am mad but to me I enjoyed doing it especially if I did something which annoy me I will then caution myself. This enable me to remember whenever I am doing the same thing again.

i also sometimes do talk to myself...but only in private..they might send me to hospital.hehehe!i guess it is natural to sometimes say what is on your mind. i guess it is also a way of releasing tension and sometimes like memorizing what you would do the next day!

i do, i talked to myself at time out loud that people thinks that i am talking to someone. LOL. especially if a am on a deep thoughts i would not realize that i was talking out loud my thoughts. LOL. i would even reprimand myself at times if i did something wrong or i am trying to correct myself. they find it weird though but i am comfortable with it. this is one way of venting out for me, i just thought so. LOL.

yea I heard some people reprimanding themselves hen they would do something wrong. Some also are encouraging themselves loud, that they could really make it. Positive reminder to themselves. That is good...but those who heard it and jnow that you are alone would feel like you are acting weird.

Funny to see others talking about this, because I am one of those who talk to myself. Ill ask a question then give myself the answer. I thought I was crazy when wondering if it is a nomal thing to do, but I see Im not the only person who does it so I dont feel so bad now

Oh yes I agree, now I confirmed that I an my hubby are not alone.. Most of you here share your experience of self talk which made me feel at ease that this is a normal thing to people who are thinkers.

I do, too, sometimes. I think it is a normal thing to do. For me, it's usually when I am in a critical situation or just too excited about something that I will talk to myself aloud. However, I have always made sure it is in private, lest people think I have gone crazy!

I talk to myself when at work. It helps me solve problems by talking them out loud to myself. Of course the co-workers look at me strange but hey whatever gets the job done!

frankly my dear you're not alone...some might say it weird but the fact is its normal...this just keeps us sane from all the pressures and unending thoughts that tends to bewitch our mind...never feel bad or ashamed...its more better than keeping it in a box and wait for it till it gets full then you'll be insane...but try to keep it down to avoid some critiscms from those who's minds are too closed for this..

well, I sometimes do some self talk especially when Im concentrating on something and my environment is so noisy. I'm too shy to shut them up but its my way of avoiding being disturbed by my surroundings.

I often talk to myself in my mind, I mean, just think what I want to talk but I don't speak it out. I think that is another good way to talk to myself and have the same function with talk lond to myself.

Oh well, you had confirmed the idea of other people here that thinkers are those who speak to themselves. Though you are not talking to yourself loud but you are thinking. so, people who are talking to themselves are not stupid but they are thinkers.

I talk to myself all the time, I'm home alone during the day, so I have no one to talk to but myself, its nothing serious until you start answering yourself, thats when its bad. I know sometimes I'll catch myself talking to myself in the store, and I wonder if anyone seen me..lol.

Oh that is really weird when you are in public and you are talking to yourself. People might think something is wrong with you. If it's your house that's fine.. but when in public? I;m just worried what people would say.javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMainContent$lbStart','')

hi there bebs. i do the same thing a lot of times. i do it when i have something in my mind which is to be solved. if it requires any result then i talk to myself in the room. once when i was doing so my dad entered the room and he started to wonder what i was doing all alone. even my mom has the same habit. she does it very often though. she talks about a lot of things like what she has to buy for the day and many things like that. happy mylotting. have a nice day!

I do. Talking to yourself is a healthy way of getting to yourself even better. But don't just do it in crowded places, they might think your nuts. You never knew your inner self unless you talk to yourself. It's like talking to friend and have some healthy conversation.

I do when I am stressed out. I try to talk myself into being calm. Sometimes it works and sometimes I stress even more. I will be so anxious that I will talk to myself in public. That's bad! Then people look at me like I am a total lunatic, walking through the grocery store or something talking to myself. The truth is at that stage, I don't really care.

that's funny when people look at you because you are talking alone. That's my worry too when I am in the grocery store I would control myself talk. People might think I am crazy. But I can't avoid it.. saying.. oh!! I see, I would just get this, or maybe this.and that I am talking alone.
