Solving the UK Credit Crunch ...

Today on the news (in the UK) I heard part of a report that the USA had done something to help sort out the current credit crunch - apparently it is now over - really?
I didn't hear the whole report and haven't heard anything about it since. So, I was wondering does anybody know more about what has been done in the US to try to halt this global problem that we are all facing? I think it may be something to do with mortgages ...?
Please let me know more details if you have them. Do you think this will work? Will we all start to see things easing off a bit now?

No problem for me, I follow that old adage, never a lender nor a borrower be. It is folly to throw your money away making bankers rich.

Hey Urban
That makes sense.
I see you are in the UK, have you noticed how everything has gotten more expensive to the point where people are battling to pay the mortgage/rent, gas, electricity, water and food ... never mind all the extras like petrol, insurances, etc...
Personally I think that the title 'Credit Crunch' is perhaps a misnomer since the interest rates seem to have stabalised (for now) so credit isn't really costing much more than it did before ... it's everything else that is causing the problems.
I still don't know what it is that America has done that is supposed to help the situation ... Can't wait to find out - lol. :¬)

Well, a little different for me as I live party outside mainstream society, not that I am a hermit or anything like that but I make much of what I need, including biofuel, collect things and recycle them and don't partake in the credit craze, so I am insulated, to a degree, and don't always notice these changes

Thanks Jill
I'm not sure how it will make a difference either, guess we will have to wait and see...
Let hope it helps us all out.
