What do you put in your meat loaf?

Sometimes I put oatmeal and egg and sometimes I use crackers. I have one recipe that calls for flour and a little bargaque sauce. I like to put onions in it too. My kids don't like onions so when they were still home, I didn't put that in. But now I do. What do you like in yours?

Hi there lilcee I have never actually made meatloaf but it is not something us Brits really cook. I know one person who has and I keep thinking to myself that one day I will get around to trying it out, have never tried it either. I spent a good couple of years in America and never had it in all the time I was there!!

Thank you for your reply. Not too many people make it I don't think. I love it tho.

i use the simple easy one that's been on quaker oats for a hundred years. i do use jarred salsa instead of ketchup as it has onions, green peppers and tomatoes already in it.

That sounds like it would be good with the salsa. Thanks for the reply.

In my meatloaf, with my hamburger I use breadcrumbs, a little A1, a few eggs, seasonings, diced peppers and onions, a layer of cheese in the middle and on the top, and I top it with stewed tomatoes. Served with mashed potatoes and vegetables, it's really delicious. Have a great day.
