One of my boys needs surgery

What a day! I've got 2 boys, one 12, the other 13. The younger one likes to jump down stairs, climb down the wall from a balcony, funny stuff like that (doesn't it give you the hysterics?) So now he's in the hospital, some broken bone, it's an arm I think. I haven't seen him yet, I'm holding the position at home while his mum sorts things out at the hospital. He'll spend the night there and gets operated tomorrow. So I'm sitting here, fielding questions at the telephone, warding off unwanted relatives, and go to the hospital in a bit. Maybe you mum's and dad's can share some experience?

My boys were in the emergency room constantly when they were younger. That is what boys do..they climb and jump and think that they will never get hurt. I am sure that everything will work out fine for your son. My kids have been lucky~ only one of the three had a broken bone, but all have had stitches many times. My 14 yr old broke his finger playing football last year. It was a very painful surgery for him...they kept him awake and gave him a local, but it didn't take so he felt the surgery!! Not good!

You will be surprised what you son will be able to do with a broken bone. They learn to adapt. Give him some special treatment and loving tonight. Yep, my son is back playing football this year. He is very cautious of that finger though. Good luck to your son.

Oh goodness!! I sure hope he is okay and that it isn't too bad of a break..I know with my grandsons, 6 and 4...they are constantly giving me a scare...especially when they ride their bikes...I just don't want them to get hurt...but it happens.. Never had any broken bones with my own kids...now 26 and 21... Sure hope all goes well...
