According to the campaign for liberty site: Ron Paul on September 8, 2008 he announced he will be holding a press conference at the National Press club. According to this he will be announcing his intentions for the fall presidential election and will be accompanied by special guests. The link to this site is http://www.campaignforliberty.com/ How awesome is this? Because I really want to support this guy and so do a lot of people. Maybe this is the CHANGE we need in America. Maybe this is the compromise between everything. Maybe we should check him out and give him a thought. Because his rallies are not being covered by the press and the people are his voice. And I think it is ironic that a fashion magazine like Vanity Fair will cover his convention, but CNN doesn't. Kind of laughable and sad. Check him out. So for all of you out there who support him I wanted to let you know. And for those of you who don't know him there you go. According to this the press conference will be held on September 10th 2008.

My brother in law heard a rumor that Ron Paul was going to run Libertarian. I hope it's true. I know Ron Paul can't win, but I would love to see him take enough votes to put a third party on the political map, and I know HE of all people can do it. I just hope his following of conspiracy theorists doesn't drag him down in the process. I know that's one of the reasons he didn't do so well in the republican party.

The libertarians already have their candidate, Bob Barr and his running mate, Wayne Allyn Root. But I think Paul is running as an independant.

Up until the last half of the primaries, I would have said ROn Paul was about the only conservative who could pull a successful national campaign as an independant and possibly take a thrid of the vote.I think though his following of conspiricy theorists and suchj killed him, they prevented him from ataining the wide support form the conservative base anas well as the light democrarts support that would have been required. I still think he could make a signifigant show in the polls. My fear is, yes, he could get a lot of votes, but not enough to win and the would be McCain votes, which means Obama gets the election almost for certian. I love Pauls Ideology, he is about as close as anyone in the republican party with the exceptoin of Fred thompson who i considered a true federalist and a constitutional purist. I was a little nearvous about his foriegn policy. It all sounds nice, but this is not a time in history for that sort of hands off non engaged in world affairs policy. In another more peaceful time perhpas, but not now. I don't know, I'm still only 90% behind Mccain and I may still vote for Paul or Baldwin, but it's only a slim maybe. I just know I DON'T want Obama.

My fear is the same. I have been over this time and time again in my mind. Vote by my conscious or vote for the likely. And I am all about the last statement you made. But after reading some comments on Paul's site from others...one stuck in my mind. And I think I am considered highly ethical by today's standards so it really got me...it was somehting along the lines of if you live your life by what is true and just and you go against your true logic than you are committing treason against yourself.....in other words my brain was screaming write him in. UGH. LOL I am very curious to hear what he has to say tomorrow. Thanks for the response.

Ron Paul denied that he was considering starting up a new campaign on an interview on Fox yesterday, so I doubt that's it *referring to the post above*...and he's a clever guy, so I expect the press conference announcement will probably be something even more brilliant and exciting. I love how sucessful he is despite the lack of mainstream coverage, though. I like how everyone else, media-wise, besides most of the mainstream...recognizes how loved he is, because it really does say something. Gosh, hopefully I'll be able to find video online after the event! I covered the Rally for the Republic...the Freedom March before that, on my blog...the more he does, the more I have hope for this country yet.

I know his run will take votes away from McCain, but I really wish he would get more press anyway. He really does have some great ideas. I think he would be an excellent person for McCain to have in his cabinet should he be elected. We really need people with new and meaningful ideas to be right there helping to make decisions. In congress he's just drowned out by the voices of people who have done almost nothing for us in the last 8 years.

Well this is exactly why I posted this and am so happy I checked his site tonight. Because I knew it needed to get out. You know i looked on the National Press club site and cannot find any info about it. I wanted to see if it will be televised anywhere. I wonder just what he will announce....and I hope it shakes things up a bit. I am so glad I got involved this election year. LOL Do Ron Paul supporters a favor and pass it on. Thanks.
