If you are ok with whatever the results may be and not get mad at whatever response was given to you. I think its good to know, if that is something that is really important to you.

For me it's OK, but it doesn't matter if your the first time or not. It's always a good thing if you always say the truth in your partner.

If this information is important to you, than yes. Ask anything. You don't want to learn later. On the other hand, he may not tell you the truth.
