Taken from tv mag.... Reality.. Bobyshock Special C4 Tuesday 16th September 10pm (English tv) Baby Lali Kumar is a medical miracle. Born in March in rural India, she has the rare condition of craniofacial duplication. Lali has four eyes that all blink together, two mouths capable of feeding, and two noses. In the seeply religious area where the family live, villagers are worshipping her as a Hindu deity and the family view their daughter as a gift from God. But in Bangalore, a doctor hears of Lali's case and is eagre to help the young girl. The girl with Two Faces: A Bodyshock Special follows the family as they decide if they can put aside their distrust of modern medicine and travel with Lali for treatment. There is also a picture of the baby girl, showing her two faces, she still looks so yummy as a baby.

Hi there Anne18 I am so glad to hear that she is held in high esteem and not ridiculed as she would be in many countries. I have found a picture for you and our fellow myLotters to see. Take care

I have heard that birth defects such as these either come from having a conjoined twin that passed away or a dietary deficiency in the mother. I'm not sure which I believe as of yet. I did see on television the other day, a baby that was born with the leg of her twin attached but nothing else on the other twin had formed. They were conjoined by the feet and it was easily removed by doctors and surgeons.

Why does this seem to happen more in India than anywhere else? They seem to give birth to babies with birth defects more than any other place. Is things like this kept secret in other countries? I sure hope that this can be corrected by surgery so she can live a happy and normal life. May God look over her and her family in their decision.

I too seen a program about this earlier in the year. I can only hope that her parents will set aside their religious beliefs and take medical action in their babies best interests. I don't know that they have ever said whether or not she can survive without medical action. I just hope that this baby survives and that someday people will look at her as if she were you or me and just love her for the little girl that she is and not a God that her people think that she is.

This is a new and rare one of course. I have watched documentaries in my day with people with anomalies or abnormalities. But never such a thing as two faced people. A little baby with two faces? Well I got to see this. I do hope that the girl can be helped. Imagine have two sets of eyes and the like. An amazing story indeed!
