Hi everyone. I saw on Extreme Makeover Home Edition one time that a teenage Indian Boy made a homemade Solar Panel to help his family out with the heating bills... Doe anyone here know how to make a Solar Panel.? Have you ever made one that actually works?

Solar panels do work. I've been in a home that had them. It's a difficult job to install these panels. Here is a site that will tell you how to do it. It's not a job I would attempt to tackle. http://www.ehow.com/how_2056821_make-solar-panel.html

I think you'd better off if you leasing the solar energy system. You don't have to worry about installation, mantenace and upgrade it. Technology changes all the time you know. You have to make a deposit, I think $500.00 ( they'll pay you back plus interest) Then each month you pay a certain amount of rent depend on your electricty bill. Usually it equals to the lesat expnse amount you pay your light. What it does is ( depends on the state you live in)if the solar panels on your will produce more energy than you consume it will sell back to the grid, thus you receive credit with your electricity. So you'll end up pay nothing but the lease, and during months where you electricity bill is hight you still pay the same amount of lease. You will save there. Here is the site: www.80profits-url/a06

Like with anything, I think it takes some know-how and if it's your first time you should probably be prepared to try again. Practice makes perfect. Solar panels are slightly more complicated than say...wind turbines, as far as technology goes. Depending on what country you're in, it may also be more expensive (though likely to be cheaper than buying them commercially). Of course home-made solar panels can work, I'd advise trying wind turbines though...they're simpler, pretty easy to make, and cheaper to make to boot. You can find the parts you need at junk yards, for goodness sakes. Anyway, I'd advise googling these things and perhaps looking for books at the library if you're really interested.

Yeah, I remember that once I saw the home made solar panel in youtube video. Go through the site and you will find it. There the person made a solar panel using woods to make a solar box. Thats awesome. You must see it.
