i have just recently separated from my husband of 11 yrs for about 5 months now. I basically starting all over again and it has been rough. We have two kids and they are living with him at this time, with me working its hard for me to see them that much. I sometimes feel guilty, cause they are always telling me they want to live with me and how much they miss me. But I know that the reason why I am working is to have them with me more. Has anyone been in that situation, or in that situation now?

I have been remarried for some time now and have two children from my first marriage back in my home country with their Mother. I too had to start all over again with absolutely nothing and the word "guilt" when it comes to not seeing my children is nowhere near strong enough to describe the emotions I feel. I know they are safe, happy, healthy and loved but I am not there. I too am working hard to make sure I can be there for them in the future and thankfully am getting closer everyday to realizing this dream. We cannot be all we can be to others until we are all we can be within ourselves as well. I speak to them every week and I miss them terribly but I know I will be with them again one day and this keeps me strong. I wish you luck in achieving your own goals as well.

All you can do is keep your goals in mind, cherish your quality time with your kids and perhaps share with them your plans to eventually spend more time with them some time in the future. Let them know that living with you right now may not be possible, but perhaps in the future they can. Although you're struggling right now, think of your current situation as motivation to obtain your goal of being with your kids more. Good luck and God bless!!!
