To what extent would you say parents are responsible for the actions of their kids? Is it up to a certain age they can be held liable for what their kids do, or is it for a lifetime? I ask because I was watching a show where one lady took a friend to small claims court because the friend 6 years old daughter dropped her dog and cause injuries ot its paws. The friend refused ot pay for vet treatment stating she was not responsible for the actions of her daughter. Your thoughts?

as long as your child is living under your roof, you are responsible for them. Once they are an adult and go out on their own, they are responsible for their own actions.

I agree with you on this. That's why i feel parents should ensure they install good values in their children before they leave the nest.

I would say im responsible for my kids actions until they hit 17-18 years old after that not my problem. You mess up you deal with the actions that are takin against you.

Per the law here in my state, you as the parent are liable until the child is an adult. Even though your child can be arrested and charged for a crime, you as the parent can be sued for personal damages. The kids here have curfew and if the child is caught outside of the time frame, the officers charge the parents, as they say you should have control over there whereabouts until they are past the age of 16.

That's a good law, guess it will work for some places and not others
