grandfather clause

yes i was wanting to know if you can answer this for me.I have been in business for over 15 years and the only license i had to have was a priveleged license with the county now they adopted a building code where you have to take a test on doing a/c and heating electrical and plumbing and i have paid the county up to date until now on the privelege lincense to do this kind of work hope you may help

I would talk with the county directly and see what they say. If you have been licensed for awhile perhaps they will grandfather you in but it depends on what the requirements are. My dad is in the alarm business and has a master apprentice license which was grandfathered when he updated it just recently so he did not have to take another test. That was in electrical contracting I believe. Not sure if that helped you out much. Try also looking at internet on policies on how perhaps you can get grandfathered in. Good luck
