How to retrive data from a formatted drive

Hi Everyone, I have lost all my data after formatting (accidently) the hard disk. Now i have created new drive with different size (Not as they was earlier). Can anyone guide/help me to retrive my data from those formatted drives. The data consist of images, videos and some document file. i'm not sure if technical questions are allowed and responded in MyLot. Please Help....

if you did a quick format then it might be possible to retrieve the data, if you didnt do a quick format and you did the long version then you are sol on getting the files back

There is no 100% guarantee that the files can be recovered safely, the success or failure depends on many factors and also on the way the files are stored on the disk by the file system. Chance of recovering files is better if the disk had been defragmented, but in your case you have also changed the partition which means your FAT etc has also been re written. Depending on how good the software is (expensive) that you use you might be able to recover some of the files, otherwise tough luck.
