What is Bigbang

Oh boy, you only listened with half an ear didn't you? The Big Bang is how the universe is supposed to have started. Two atoms collided and everything else developed from there. Well, at least that's the scientific theory. As of now unproven. So some scientist went to work in Switzerland and build the biggest particle accelerator in the world. A particle accelerator is where atoms can be spun around faster and faster and faster in a circle. There a several already in existence and being used for scientific research. This one now happens to be the biggest being that it is 17 miles long. It's not under water. It has been build in the ground, not sure how far down, but deep. Being that Switzerland is in the alps, it has been build into solid rock. Now these scientists want to use this machine to re-create the Big Bang on a small scale. They want to send two atoms and accelerate them to enough speed that when they collide they will proof what thus far has been theory. If atoms collide at high speed a universe can be created. Although these scientists claim that the experiment will be undertaken under totally controlled and safe circumstances, there are opposing voices that claim that the experiment will create what's called a 'black hole'. Black holes suck in parts of the universe or so it is thought. If you have a black hole on earth it will suck up earth matter and grow, until well, nothing is left. And yes, it's been all over the news. They started the machine today and have completed a satisfactory initial test run. They have to conduct further and more extensive tests before they can undertake the 'Big Bang' experiment, which is supposed to take place about a year from now or something like that.
