Drug Abuse ... punishment vs treatment

How do you feel about the laws for those who are mixed into drugs ? Do you feel that the law is sufficient the way it is and if so then why is it still a big problem ? Would be better to treat those with the addiction rather then fining them or throwing them in jail ? Drug is wide world problem and seems to be growing worse every year . What can be done about this to improve the situtioin ? Do you beleive that the laws are justified in throwing someone with an addiction in jail and do feel this in anyway will prevent them from doing it again when they come or do you believe that it would be better to place them in a drug rehabilitation program ? Do you believe that if one were placed in a drug rehabitlitation program that this would stop them from selling when they came out . Many drug pushers are themselves addicted to the drug but what if they overcame their addiction , do you believe that they would still feel the need to push it on others to make money or do you believe that they would stop realziing what they themselves went through and not want to be around the drug that could so easily place them back in the same situation ?
