Canon 1000D / myLot

What can you say about this dslr? im caught between this 1000D and the d40 of nikon. But I'll probably wait awhile for the reviews.

I just got myself a Canon 1000D two weeks ago and i also bought an extra 200mm lens, and i think this camera is one of the best things i have bought in a long time, I have a friend who is very hard to please when it comes to these sorts of things and i thought he wouldn't like it as I didn't take him along when I bought it, I just took a list of what I wanted and talked to a very helpful saleman and anyway my friend checked my camera out and he was completely blown away, couldn't find a fault, it is so easy to use and has a very easy to understand instruction booklet which is an area I always have problems with...I love my new camera.

Wow! congratulations! how much did you get it? here it is sold for 28,500 pesos, thats $616 on your area. actually im torn between buying a d40 and this 1000D

I think our money here in Australia is a bit different, i got a whole package deal with the two lenses with the camera, memory card and extra battery,protective filters for each lens and I also bought a monopod so I do have intentions of getting into photography seriously....I am very happy with it.

I'll go for Canon 1000D. Its good enough for me as a newbie. friendly to use
