Do you know what equipment you use that provides you internet access?

Besides your computer, if your ISP is dsl or cable what dsl/cable modem are you using? Do you have a separate router? In case you experience problems with your internet, more than likely, you will call for support. These are the questions that the tech support agent will ask you most of the time. In my experience, 95% of callers do not know the model number of their equipment whether they are computer savvy or not. I'm hoping to see you responses! Happy MyLotting!

I know we use a D-link and have sky as our provider and Bt as the phone dial up.
Apart from that I have not a clue and guess I should really learn somemore about this. I think we have high speed and I love it.
My husband would know but he is at work so I cannot cheat.

Wow talk about fast internet connection! Even faster than T1 connection. The question is, is it as stable as T1 (1.544 Mbps) connection? T1 is what call centers use for their operations.
As for Smart Bro, I had a terrible experience with them when it comes to technical support. We had some problems as well when the connection keeps on dropping and they had to "rehome" it to another base station. It took almost one month before they fixed the problem.

i dont know if my father uses T1 or fiber optic connection... i do know is the pinoy technician there are having problem maintaining there connection... it always keeps dropping down i think it has a problem in connection settings...
in my case it only took me 5 days without a connection... but when its been fixed up... all are good right now... i think the signal in your area is very low... if your phone has a low signal bar then youve got a slow net connection...here at pasig we are near to cell site so i dont have problem with it... but the problem now is... when we move on to angono i dont know if my connection there will be like here... thats why i ask you about it...

we have a u.s. robotics adsl modem w/ 256kbps line. recently, we upgraded it to 512kbps but have to wait for the 256k subscription to expire. we have prepaid dsl service and we get dsl line & internet line from separate companies..
the adsl has wi-fi options so i am using it to connect my laptop. of course i enabled encrypting to avoid free service for my neighbors.. hehehe..

hello
if You are usning a DSL Connexion, Your provider gona give you a D-Link Router with Wireless Support... it's the most Modem/router used by Companies.
if You are using ADSL through a Cable , The modem provided is Sagem 812 or if you go for a Modem/Router you can Get a Sagem 800 which is the most ones used by Internet's Providers...
Hope that was helpful!

Actually my internet service provider is Smart Bro it's a wireless broadband internet connection which is very much unlike a DSL or Cable internet. They provide us an antenna which is technically called a "canopy." It's mounted in our roof and it's 20 feet tall. An Ethernet cable is connected to it which is going to be connected to our computer. As for the router, it's our choice we want to get one.
Smart Bro is one the famous ISPs here in the Philippines since it can cater to people who does not have a dsl service available. It's available where a cellphone signal is available. Thank you for the response happy mylotting!
