Are the odds good enough in Beauty Pageants to even make them worthwhile? i was watching several documentaries and one mentioned that the cost to enter the pageant was 900 bucks and the grand prize was just 1,000!!! so you have the hope of winning 100 bucks?!?! and after having to put so much money into traveling and costumes i just dont see it being worth it.. but there are some that really make a lot of money but i wouldnt think the odds are good.. you??

It depends on what the contestant deems worthwile. For most I doubt that its monetary gain that they are after. Its like entering your baby in a baby contest, most parents don't care about the money reward yet the bragging rights of being able to say they have the cutest baby. For some of us its enough that I family and friends or just us think he's the cutest baby. But then you have parents that want the world to know. So I think mostly its not about the monetary reward. But other things like talent developement and exposure. Developement of competition skills. The ability to jump start other careers like modeling, acting, singing etc. Often times there are scholarship rewards which definitely equate to money. When you get to a certain level there are automatic contract rewards etc. Also when at a certain level you have world wide exposure. But the type that would have a 1000 prize are definitely on the lowest level and could possibly be for monetary gain.

I would say no it isnt worthwhile do to the fact you have what about 20 girls in the end and you have 1 chance out of 20 to win. Odds really arent in your favor for the most part. However i would agree some girl do it as a popularity thing and the parents push it to the point most times for the child to do it in the first place.I know a few girls that do this sorta thing and not because the like it , its because the mother makes them do it so the mother can do around oh my daughter is this and that blah blah i dont understand why push so hard to do it makes no sence really.
