Controlling my anger has been one of my biggest problems. I tend to lose my temper quickly even for simple reasons. I've tried various methods and some seem to work. What do you do to control your emotions?

Hi sandeep, I know controlling ur anger is a tough but controlable job ,iwas like u but now i adopted a better way the moment i am angry i take deep breaths and remove myself from the scene completly and if thats not possible i think of a completly different thing or sing a song to myself sounds funny but it has helped a lot and changed me in a lot of ways its helped me to take things positively and have a more cooler attitude towards things & people. Say this to ur self TAKE A CHIL PILL MAN & u wil not stop laughing, coz the CHILPIL actually works. So all the best give it a try.

hi sandeep, i am basically very short-tempered. i get angry so soon and also it goes away within minutes. but now a days i tried controlling it. i think meditation will help control the anger to some extent. when i get angry i don't talk anything, i would go into my room and would lie down for sometime. that's what i do. sometimes when i can't control i cry out he he he

Honestly, I try to count 1 to 10. If it doesn't work, I think of happy thoughts. I also leave the area first to divert my attention. If it's a person I get pissed off with, I avoid the person first for the day and just deal with them later when I have slept on it. I also try to read a magazine or a book to forget how upset i am. A movie also cheers me up.

Being temperamental was my problem too especially when I reached the menopausal age.I tried to read books on how to control my abnormal behavior because I hate myself when I'm angry.I tried listening to classical music sitting in a closed door room meditating and praying too.Maybe God's answer to my prayer is this computer mania and joining My lot.Since then anger is just a word without emotion to me.

I try to think of something that makes me happy when I'm angry...or I take a little break just for myself. Grab a cookie, a cup of java and read a chapter in a book. When I used to get mad at work, I'd take my break and walk down to the coffee shop at the end of our block downtown. The walk always calmed me down.
