We all talk about christmas on mylot, what we are going to do, buy family and friends and who we are going to visit etc. But who doesn't celebrate christmas on mylot and for what reasons you don't celebrate christmas. And what do you do on christmas day when we are celebrating christmas day?

Hi Anne... Hmmm... How do I say this? Well, to answer your question, we do not celebrate Christmas. It's not part of our religion. I know you might be wondering why and it would actually be a long discussion but to make things short, Christmas is a tradition started sometime before and in the bible, there is no mention about Christmas per se. There's the mention of the birth of Christ but no exact date. So there. Long story. hehe. But I love the Christmas-y feeling. December is always a happy month for people and it seems like everyone is so giving. I also love seeing kids so happy and people being very nice to each other.

I am a Christmas maniac, but I have several family members, most of my family actually who don't celebrate due to religious reasons. For them it's just a regular day. They don't put up trees or exchange presents, none of the Yule tide traditions. It's their belief and I respect it. I must admit though, I do miss the big Christmas celebrations we had when we were all little. The whole family getting together for a big Christmas dinner, us kids going crazy unwrapping presents. It was a good time...good memories for me. Unfortunately, alot of family members have passed on now, my mom included, so that sort of takes the joy out of some of the holiday festivities for me, but luckily I have my little ones now to put a whole lot of the joy back into it.
