Do you use traffic exchanges to generate traffic?

When I first started trying to make money on-line I got into Traffic Exchanges as a way to generate traffic but I have found them to be very time consuming as a way to generate traffic. Now I use the toolbar systems quite effectively - gaining credits for my ads whilst browsing rather than having to site and manually surf pages. These are an excellent system if you are looking to promote any website. I am using Free Traffic Bar and Instant Buzz Have you started using these systems yet? Have you found them any good? Do you know any other systems for getting free advertising (no referral links or pm me for details - please stay within the rules)? Please do not post referral links etc. This is a discussion about the pros/cons of this type of advertising system not a way for you to get referrals. If you want to join under my referral link - feel free to do so as they are on my profile page.

I agree, they are time consuming in the beginning. But I promoted trafficswarm, and have a pretty strong downline there now, which means I don't have to surf myself anymore. For me it was just a question of making the initial effort. I get sign up's for myLot on autopilot now.

That is brilliant - how much effort did you have to put in as I have not had anywhere near that success.

A lot, and I mean A LOT. I spent the last three month 8 hours a day surfing, but I have accumulated so many credits in the other major exchanges that I expect to get at least one direct referral every day for the next 12 month without doing any more surfing. I have 120 referrals on my first level, but I’m sure you know, it’s the referrals on the lower levels that really count, and they are starting to come in, too.

That is one heck of a lot of surfing - all praise to you - I managed a couple of weeks doing an hour a day before I got so bored of it. I am impressed.

I agree they are time consuming.I did them consistently for about a month and a half and got burnt out.getting a downline under you in traffic exchanges are the key as they help you get points and you dont have to do alot of surfing.I do some taffic exchanges that pays you to surf and also give you points at the same time .So I get a 2 for one deal on the ones that pay you to surf.I think one of them pays .25 cents per 50 or 100 pages surfed and once you reach 10.00 they pay you.
