sooo everyone is always debating on whether or not bottled water is better than tap? what do you think? do you guys drink bottled because you don't like the taste of tap or do you drink bottled because you think it's healthier? does anyone think that tap water is better? i for one drink tap water more because it decreases the amount of plastic that is used. even though it's recyclable a lot of people don't take the extra step to put in the bin so it gets thrown in the trash. what do you guys prefer and why? do you recycle?

you should really think about recycling those bottles. that's a major issues regarding our environment. is there a reason you don't recycle?

I prefer tap water, but use a Brita pitcher to filter it. They've done studies before that have proven that bottled water is usually more contaminated than tap water anyway...so people are paying to waste plastic and drink contaminated water.

i don't have a problem with the contaminants. if i don't drink it in my water i'll drink in something else. they put so many harmful chemicals in our food that it doesn't matter. i care more about the recyclng.

i would have to say that bottled and tap water are equally contaminated but with different things.

I think it depends on who performs the research. Some will say bottled water is less contaminated. Others will say tap water is less contaminated. Out of curiousity, which contaminents are you more afraid of?!

Hello,Medney! First thing we must know whether the bottled water is genuine and free from germs. It was several times tested and revealed that most of the bottled water or pouch water is just the tape water. It is not even filtered. And we trust the companies and drink those nasty stuffs. So it is better to collect pipe water and get it filtered at home and preserve in bottles for use when needed. You can even take a few bottles of water from your home to office or when going out.It is more safe than the bottled water.I never purchased the bottle water for my drinking purpose.thanx.

If you buy distilled water it is not filtered. If you buy water that is "from the spring" then really its not filtered water. I don't like filtering water at home because of the system involved. I used a charcoal filter which is what you get when you use those things like Brita and it made me sick. If the filter in those things goes bad before you get it or if its made wrong, you could end up with charcoal in your water. If you want to reduce waste you can always buy a water system like sparklets. they take your jugs refill them and send them back. You can just use a normal cup and theres no plastic waste.

true. i think that if you don't like tap water you should get a reusable container and instead of buying the individual bottles you can just buy the jugs of water and refill the reusable containers. it's friendly to the environment and cuts down on waste.

I drink bottled water because it tastes cleaner. The water that comes from the tap is getting more horrible everyday. If you drink it on a regular basis' it may be hard to tell... It is starting to taste more and more like pool water everyday. If you leave a glass of tap water to sit for a day or two you can see what I mean. The water will leave a white residue on the glass that distilled water doesn't. By the way I only drink distilled water -- which is "suppose to be" the best way to purify water. Though its stripped of its "minerals" it is more H2O than H20 + extras... I feel that drinking tap water can shorten a life span I wonder if anyone has done studies on this lol. Happy mylotting! oh and I don't recycle I have no idea where the closest bin is!

There is a trash company in Arizona called Waste Management who takes our trash. They recycle at least 80% of the garbage that goes through their system. Its at least a step in the right direction. I live in apartment complex so I don't really have a choice in bins... I reuse my plastic bags though and also use reusable ones.

Well then the problem really isn't with plastic bottles... its more with plastic it self. I think bottles should be made of glass personally. I mean sand isn't that rare of a resource =.= but I haven't seen a plastic tree so im gunna assume their almost gone jk! anyway ttyl! happy mylotting ^_^

well i've done a little research and there isn't enough chemicals in tap water to do any harm. the only people that should really be concerned are those that have no immune system. bottled water still hold toxic chemicals just like tap but no one really tells you that. there have also been studies showing that plastic bottles can release carcinogens if they are heated and that can also be dangerous.

We drink tap water. We have good tasting water and it's well water so we don't like to buy bottled water. If we do happen to get the bottled for some reason, like if we are away from home and want water, then yes, we do recycle it. We bring the bottle home and put it in our recycle bin.

Bottled only. I believe our tap water is fine to drink, but can't break an old habit. Please rest assure...we always recycle. Get pretty good money from all the recycling.
