Should I have someone cut down my pine trees in exchange for wood

I have about 20 pine trees in the back of my yard that I would like to remove. I really don't have the money to pay someone to remove. I saw a couple of listing on Craigslist for pine trees removal in exchange for wood. I am thinking if someone cut the trees down for free so they can use the wood to sell would be a good deal. I was wondering what you guys think? The pine trees are not close to my house so there should not be a issue of them hitting the house. How do I protect myself if I do this? Have anyone ever done this?

I would make some conditions - perhaps that they would not be able to actually remove any of the wood until they have cleaned up the mess of the branches, leaves, etc. that is left when you cut trees - otherwise, someone might leave you a really big mess! I would also want to tell them that they can't drive through your yard when the ground is soft - you don't want them leaving big ruts in your yard.

I did not even think about the clean up. I am taking 24 hours to think about this so if I do decide I would indicate clean up must be done.

I would make some conditions, too... but you might want to check with your homeowner's insurance to be sure you'll be covered if there's an accident while they are working. Other than that, it sounds like it would be a good deal for both of you.
