Many find newspapers to be time consuming and just watch the daily new. Can a daily T.V really be a substitute for a newspaper? Do you find newspapers boring?

It depends on people whether they like reading newspaper or watching the news. Ofcourse t.v is really a substitute for a newspaper, but then newspaper has its own advantages, you can just read the headlines and know whats going on today in the world, you need not know each and every thing , if you are so curious to know then t.v suits you better, because they report on each and everything happening around every corner of the world. Yes, people who have time or who can spend some time on newspapers read newspapers, even watching t.v also is spending time right?

Yes true. Reading newspapers not only helps to know the current affairs but also improves reading skills.

Having access to the internet, I found newspaper boring because you read late news. Thus I prefer reading online newspapers and most of them are updated frequently as the news is happening. © ronaldinu 2008

i do read newspapers. even the small incidents are listed out in the papers. besides these days i don't find the news channels that very good. most of them are busy in entertainment news and they focus less on the main news. if i don't find time to read the entire paper, i just go through the headlines.

I do not read the newspaper daily, but I wish I did. I also do not have TV, so my only news source is NPR or word of mouth. I wish I had a subscription to the New York Times or another good paper, because my city's paper is too conservative and just not a well put together paper in general. I don't think the nightly news can substitute for a good newspaper, as no movie can replace the fine detail of a good novel.

I do read newspaper. I think reading newspaper has own advantage also. Usually TV news is more shorter than newspapers. Newspapers give more details than TV news. Beside that, newspaper can be read again and again. TV news can only be seen once. Newspaper have all the news criteria like 5W 1H. Therefore I will choose newspaper to get more details. I watch TV news just to know the brief information.

I read the local newspaper, then go online and read some of the bigger newspapers as well. I also watch local, national and world news on TV. Today's news isn't really news. It's entertainment. So, in order to get the most news, one has to read papers, watch TV and check out newspaper web sites. And, the smartest thing for those of us in the US is to take a peek at the BBC or Canadian newspapers. They can give a more unbiased account of news sometimes.

I don't read newspapers at all. All the stuffs there are just bad news and I don't want to start my day with bad news. Though, it is very important that we should be updated with what's going around us, I think it's important that we also put balance in what we read and watch --a balance of good and bad. Tv news cannot really substitute for a newspaper but the thing is, tv news are more entertaining.
