Have You Ever Re-Connected With Old Friends?

Okay, this is crazy. I decided to google an old friend because I needed to ask a certain question pertaining to a certain event in our lives. Turns out I found him living in Australia. But, in turn, I decided to look up other friends on MySpace and lo and behold I found an old friend who I hadn't seen in twenty years or so. Then I clicked on all his friends and well, memories came flooding back. Now I'm in touch with friends I haven't seen in years, and I mean years. One has passed away (sadness) and one is on the run (oh my). How 'bout you? Have you tried to find old friends?

I have tried but found no one, then again you were looking for a guy? I was looking for girls who of course if they got married their last name would change.. I did however sign up for classmates.com, though I am not paying for the upgrade, a neighbor kid found me and e-mailed me..

Yes, I had a hard time looking for girlfriends. But I did find brothers of girlfriends and reconnected that way. I never thought of signing up with classmates.com. Are they worldwide?

I don't know if they are worldwide, you can check and see if they are.

I did the same thing, joined classmates and there were several from my class on there but I didn't get the upgrade so couldn't contact them - seems none of them did either :(

I have to say yes because I used to have a friend who was my colleague and later as she moved to work somewhere else, we lost connection with each other for quite a few years. But luckily, one of my other colleagues happened to have got an email from her asking about me, then we started to get in touch again.

Don't you just love the internet and technology? Where would we be without email and social network sites and whatever else makes it easier to stay in touch. It's pretty cool.

I did reconnect with a friend from grade school at a high school reunion and it turned out to be a major disaster. This person's mind was still in grade school. Life was bad for this person and nothing ever was right in this person's life. After about 2 years of reuniting this friendship I had to bail. This is not like me to do something like this but had to save my sanity. Our kids, my husband and everyone that came in contact with this person told me to get away. I slowly became unavailable. For awhile I had guilty feelings but then realized it was the best thing for me to do. I am still being blamed for this person's debt although I had nothing to do with this person's choices that were made while with me. I went to a local casino and this person came along. I should probably not say anymore and let everyone use their imagination. Let's just say this is one reason I don't use an ATM card or debit card.

As a matter of fact, I have reconnected with an old friend from high school. She found out that I am struggling with a serious debilitating illness, and she keeps in touch and sends me holiday presents. She won't see me though, for the same reason that most people won't come to see me -- they don't want to see me confined to a wheelchair. That's okay by me, because everybody acts so weird around me. They say "I just don't know what to say"....duh..I'm still a person. You can still talk about tv, movies and politics. But really, this is a disease that struck out of the blue, randomly, and for no good reason. So the reason they don't want to see me is that they don't want to see something they could have gotten!!

Not on the internet, old friends usually call my mom's house because I used to live there and that's the only phone number I gave them when we were still friends. I moved here without taking my old phone book I think I lost them during packing. I've lived here 8 years now and some old friends were calling my mom she said I have been here for 8 years hahah my best friend is the only one who knows my address and phone number here I keep in touch with her by phone or letters, she doesn't have internet connection

Yes, I have. I got in touch with a few classmates that I haven't seen in ages thanks to the Internet. Even though we don't really keep in touch these days some of these old friends are on my myspace page so that we can stay connected that way.

Yes I recently found an old friend I hadnt seen or heard from for about 18 years. She lives in Texas but right now she is working in Ok. and she just dont like that state but she will stay for the job she has been with the company for 13 years. I would so much like to see her in person again . She has a laptop but not up to IMing at all . so we have toi use the Cell phone and I can only call her on weekends for the time difference but it is great to find old friends!

I have looked but haven't found anyone - I was lucky though a friend I hadn't seen or heard from in 30 years found me and thus I get updates on a whole bunch of people I went to high school with as she still lives in the same area. I moved out of state after graduation.

Hi gtargirl, That is really amazing, I have tried that when I joined friendster this year..I was amazed really when I found some of my High School friends whom I haven't seen or talk for more than 10 years! I wasn't very glad checking their pictures and learning their whereabouts and well as status..LOL! I love it! But, I didn't find all, maybe some of my friends have no account!

I have had a few people from my past find me on myspace. A few of them I lost contact with because of a fight that seemed like forever ago. We chat from time to time through email, but that is about it. There are a lot of people from my school on their lists that I have not bothered to add because I was never really friends with them.
