Human beings are the LEAST successful, no question. All religious texts that exist are openly interpretated by people and can be used for not just positive approaches to life; but for the expansion of evil and negativity as well. people throughout history have compeltely abused their ability to be charismatic and influential and have twisted pure and well meaning ideals to suit their own purposes.

We ourselves, or rather our big bloated ego is responsible for the condition humanity is now in. like the saying ‘to each his own’, each one of us thinks I am the best and you are ignorant and lowly. So I am giving you an opportunity (as if I am doing you a great favour) of redeeming yourself if you follow me and thus ensure your place in heaven (as if that should be the only goal of human beings!)…otherwise rot in hell. A lot of fear, intimidation, violence, brain-washing etc have been used to wipe out religious civilizations and establish newer ones yet , the battle continues unabated.

We are of course...For centuries people have had that wonderfully self absorbed knack for twisting things in order to suit their own needs....

It is human beings. No doubt about that. For every religion there is a leader. My understanding is that their intention would have been to make this world a better place by improving the quality of people. But, that has not been successful for each and every human. Followers of those religions themselves must have misinterpreted and adopted the words of their religious leaders to suit their personal benefit which gradually has become the today's mislead concepts. So it is people who has mislead the humanity.
