What should you do if you are bitten by a dog?

The first reaction of most people is to immediately rush to a doctor for an anti-rabies shot.Well i would do the same,..How about you?...
An ounce of cure is better than a pound of prevention but prevention is better than cure. Here are some pointers on how to avoid being bitten by a dog.
#Don't run past a strange dog.A dog's natural instincts is to chase and catch a prey.
#Don't approach a strange dog, especially one that's tethered or confined.
#If a dog threatens don't scream.
# Avoid eye contact; try to remain motionless until the dog leaves, then back away slowly until the dog is out of sight.
#Always let the dog see and sniff you before you pet the animal.

Thanks for the tips. I am very afraid of dogs. My brother was bitten and he had to take many injections. I have been chased by dogs many times and its really difficult to stay calm, when a dog charges at you. But i will try to remember your tips and hope I do not face such a situation. I know if a dog chases me in future I will forget all your tips and run for life.

Those are good tips. I've never been bitten by a dog and hope I never do. Like you said tho, it's better to prevent it in the first place. Usually when I come upon a stray dog, I try to avoid it and either walk another way or just slowly go back to where I came and hope it doesn't follow me LOL. Have a good day.

You must wash the bite first with soap and water and apply bandage if necessary before going to the doctor. You must also tie the dog to avoid other attacks and observe the dog for 14 days.

Bitten by the dog needs cure by the doctor too but somehome remedies are also workable. At our place it is known that if the home dog bite you what is to be done is to call for the two or three Red Chillies(Raw) and put that on the bite and have a bandage. It reduces the chances of rabies and the wound is healed early.

some years ago,my sisiter was bitten by the dogs .first,we clean the wound.and take her to the hospital.that is right way.

sure, to see a doctor and take an anti-rabies shot. i think that's the only thing we can do. because that is a dog, how did you do? bite it for revenge? it is a old saying that to persuade people don't hate others who did wrong to you. oh, it is funny, and it also bring us philosophy.
