When you started in your first job or when you moved to a new company, how long did was you have to wait until you received your first check. I have now been working for 3 weeks and still have not received my first salary. We were supposed to be paid every two weeks but I still am waiting for mine. I may have to ask the HR about it. Do you think I should ask about it now or wait for one month before asking? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

I used to be a payroll admistrator, and if you are being paid every two weeks, if the first week you worked was not a pay week, you should have received your first check on the second week your worked. You should have received pay for one week. If the pay day was on the second week you worked you should have received it then. Maybe you should find out if they hold back a pay, if that is the case you should get paid by your fourth week, since they would be holding two weeks pay. During orientation were you told when the pay cycles are or if they held back a pay period. You need to find this out, I would suggest you go to the HR manager on Monday and find out. Four weeks is entirely too long to wait to get paid. Good luck
