Death of Creativity?

As I was walking through WalMart today I passed by the Halloween displays(already?). Looking at all the pre-made, cheap inflatable/plastic "pumpkins", costumes, etc. I bet when you were kids you made your own costumes and carved your own pumpkins.
So, I wondered, does this level of commercialization predict the Death of Creativity?
