Christmas Day is just for hubby me and the children. Talk to people on the telephone. But in the past there has been so many hassles about family coming on christmas day we decided christmas day is just for us and the children. People come over on Boxing day or we go to visit people on boxing day and at other times over the christmas period so we do get to see everyone we want to.

Every Christmas time, we used to always attend the family reunions happening in the province; particularly consisting of relatives in my mother's side. Until now, it's still a tradition in our clan. But sad to say, ever since I got married, our holiday seasons are spent and divided between going to my parents and to my in-laws. Say, if we celebrate Christmas with my parents, we'd certainly be with my in-laws during the New Year. I find it quite more expensive and exhausting since me, my husband, and our daughter make a lot of trips to and from her grandparents. For this holiday season, I have a feeling that it will be quite different because I guess by that time, either I'm totally displaced from my present job or we're going to be so busy wrapping up the business. So, I still haven't made any plans for this year because I'm still not sure of what's happening next in our lives, because of this status of my job. All my life it's been so hectic during these times in our families. I do hope that someday, when we finally have our own house and parcel of land in the province, we'll be able to spend some solemn family time with only me, my husband, and our daughter during Christmas. Or for a change, it could also be that our relatives will be the ones to visit us in our own house during holiday season.

We celebrate Christmas by getting together with the whole family. We all go to my mom and dad's house and exchange gifts, have dinner and just be together.

Hello there! I am from the Philippines (and you are too right?) oh well same as you do I guess, We eat during 12 midnight of December 24 and sleeps late. We exchange gifts and be merry. On the Christmas day itself, we visit my relatives (usually my grandmother's siblings)ask for Christmas present (or aguinaldo LOL) or sometimes, or almost every year now, when there is no much money to spare, our grandparents just give us food, they prepare something for us. We usually don't care if they would give something or not, it has a become a traditon in my extended family to visit everyone. On the afternoon, I bring my kids to my friends (their god parents and me and my friends sort of have a mini reunion) Before dark, my cousins plays game. MY oldest aunt give away prizes. We do silly games like charade, pinoy henyo, pulboron challenge and many more. It is an excuse to make yourself look like a fool LOL.

On the eve of December 24th, we ate dinner together. My family and I wait until the clock strikes 12mn and greet each other "Merry Christmas" and watch the fireworks together. On Christmas morn, we go to our grannies and greet them Merry Christmas, give gifts and attend the Christmas mass. As far as I could remember, that's how we celebrate Christmas in the family. :) Nice discussion. Happy myLotting! :)
