What Do You Have Hanging On Your Door?

Since it's autumn in my part of the world, I'll be hanging the lovely fall wreath that we have, on the outside of our door. My daughter made it a number of years ago. Last year, I completely forgot about it, until well into the season. I plan on getting it hung up in the next couple of days. I have received comments on how lovely it is, etc. Do you have a decorative hanging, wreath, etc., on the outside of your door? What's it like? Does it reflect the season(s), or is it something to make your guests feel welcome? Maybe it's something completely different, from what I've suggested here?

Hello there It is certainly moving in here to the Fall and it is saddening me because we have not really had a Summer as such so it is depressing me a bit to see it turn like this I will not be putting anything on my Door until near Christmas as here they don't really hang anything out for the Seasons Hugs

I really like holly wreaths too. The first part of December, is a great time to decorate, as then you'll have lots of time to enjoy everything.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have much of a summer. Our's was different than usual this year. We had far too much rain, and not nearly enough sunshine. On the plus side, it wasn't as humid as it usually is. That's interesting about the lack of door hangings there. Here in Canada (and likely the US), many people have various types of door hangings. Some people like to have a different one for each season. What do you hang on your door at Christmastime? I really appreciate you dropping in here. Hugs.

Hi.. I picked up a little something to hang on my front door from the thrift store...It reflects autumn with autumn colors...It isn't a wreath but is made from sticks into a diamond shape...It says welcome...very simple but very nice...

Hi Feona, Thanks for stopping by here, and for describing your door hanging. I'm sure it's really pretty. We just put our autumn wreath on the door today. At least it's up nice and early this year. Take care.

We do not have anything hanging on the outside of our door. We live in an apartment building where our doors face the outside hallway where many, many college students walk each and every day. We've had experiences where anything we've placed on the outside of our door has gone missing or has somehow been vandalized or broken. We just skip that idea. Although I'd definitely like to be more decorative.

I'm very sorry to hear about the vandal problems, highflyingxangel. It's just wrong when 'a few' thoughtless people ruin things for others. We live in a townhouse complex with a lot of kids, but (so far) we haven't had this problem. Thanks for sharing here. Take care.

Hi someonesmom. Goodness how fast the time has gone and have to start thinking not only of the change of seasons but the holidays soon. I probably won't be doing this until the first week of October, but I like decorating all around the apt and on the front door in a Halloween theme...since many of the things have a fall theme to them, I just put away the Halloween decorations away when it's over, leaving out the fall type stuff..I decorate the top of my entertainment center with fake colorful fall leaves and orange candles and in the center have a cornucopia filled with fruits like apples, grapes and pears and also have small decorative pumpkins and gourds. I really don't have many guests visit me....sniffle, sniffle, but there's no reason I can't decorate things nicely to make me feel better, right?

Hi pye, Your decorations sound lovely. You're so very creative. I really should do 'more' along these lines too, but at least I manage to hang our wreath on the door (when I remember). It always helps me to feel more cheerful, and really brightens things up. We don't have a lot of people over either (mostly my daughter's friends), and some family that visit regularly. If we lived closer to each other, we could visit back and forth. It'd be great to be able to do this. Thanks so much for your response here. Take care. Hugs.
