Did you ever lose or misplace your contact lens or glasses?

Just the other night, one of my contact lens went straight down the drain. How did this happen? Let me tell you the story: I had already taken my contacts out and put them in their container. I was talking to my fiance and asked him to remind me to bring my lens case and solution since we were going to go somewhere the next day... Well all he heard was "lens case" and thought that I wanted to remove my contacts. So to make the long story short, he took the case and rinsed it out! When he gave it to me, I had a strange look on my face and asked him, "why are you giving me that?" He said "I thought you wanted your lens case because you're going to remove your contacts?" I told him... "But my contacts were in there!" Haha. Needless to say we both ran to the sink to try and salvage them. Unfortunately, we only found one. The other got flushed away already. So I had to go and buy a pair of new ones the next day. Sigh. I couldn't wear just one because my eye sight is 550 for my left eye and 600 for my right. (yeah...I know. I'm as blind as a bat without them.) and that's why I couldn't go around with nothing. It was a dumb accident I know and I was wondering if any of you lost your contacts or glasses and how did you lose them?

Yup, it happens once in a while, either when I was putting in or taking out the lens. They tend to slip from my fingers and drop down. I usually remove or put in my lens at the dressing table; however the lens (if I could find them) did not fall onto the table top. It would either stick to the side of the drawer, drop to the floor, and once, to the side of the chair I was sitting on. And this meant, I most probably couldn't deduce where the lens would have dropped! Nowadays, it's better with monthly disposal lens - I always have extra pairs. Previously when I had that one and only pair - I really panicked - I have got to find my lens or go to work wearing specs (even worse)

haha... That's what I did the day after my fiance "lost" my contacts. I had to wear my glasses and my best friend was laughing at me because I was wearing one. Lol. I made sure to buy one right after work. I have to use extended wear contacts because of my eyes. They don't have a pair high enough to match my grade. Plus I also have astigmatism so I really have to get the extended wear lens.

I was on my swimming lesson one time, wearing my contact lens under my swimming goggles, (of course it's hard to wear an eyeglass when you're swimming) and when i was diving deep into the pool, my goggles had been moved from its place and so my contact lens got exposed to the water when I open my eyes underwater. So I hurriedly got off from the pool coz I felt that one of my lenses was lost, particularly on the right eye. Then I thought that its hard to find it then since my lens were all clear. So i might as well take a shower then. Suddenly, I felt there's something inside my eyelid (on my right eye), and when i check it on the mirror, wow! surprise! the contact lens was there, hahahaha, it just got fold..thanks God, i don't need to buy a new one. :)

I am terrible for losing my glasses i do it all the time. I will put them down and completely forget where i have put them. My two year old also hs a habit of getting hold of my glasses and hiding them. So now i try to keep them in the same place so i will know where they are when i need them.

Good idea littleone. Might as well put your glasses in the same exact place so you don't lose them. Hehe.

Yes, all the time. I would sometimes drop my contact lens on the floor and I be searching for it.. Sometimes I find it, sometimes, I don't. But my glasses, I have misplaced many times. I have even asked for my son to find my glasses because I can't see where I last put them.

Ouch... I wonder how much that cost you? I use extended wear contacts so I really need to take care of them because they're pretty expensive. Not to mention the glasses! Frames alone can be very expensive.

You are lucky to have good eyesight. I'd love to have 20/20 vision. I'd probably have to undergo an operation before that happens.

Oh, that must have hurt the pocketbook. I don't wear contacts because my eyes are so sensitive that I can't stand anything on them. As for my glasses, a couple of times I have gone crazy trying to find them. But for a little while now I have been working on improving my eyesight by exercise, better nutrition, not wearing my glasses when I'm taking some sun, ect. Now, when I'm in the house I hardly wear them except to watch tv. Even now as I'm on the computer I'm not wearing glasses. A thing I couldn't do a while back. In fact, the glasses I wear now need to be changed to a weaker prescription. And I also was as blind as a bat. In fact, in school, and that's a long time ago. one of my teachers affectionately(I hope it was affectionately) nicknamed me Bat Man. But now as you can see I'm no longer Bat Man but Superman. LOL
