Have you ever had batteries corrode in something you really loved?

Have you ever had batteries corrode in something that you really loved and it ruined the item? This has happened to me so many times and its so frusterating! Sometimes if I can get the corrosion off using alcohol and a metal scraper then I can fix the item and make it still work but most the time I have to just throw the item away and its such a waste. I wish batteries didnt corrode! What was something of yours that you left the batteries in to long and they corroded? Did it ruin the item? This topic was thought up today while changing batteries in my daughters doll today and realizing that the batteries werent dead that one had corroded and ruined the doll! I told her what happened and she said to me "but that was my favorite" and I said if we saw another doll like that on sale maybe we could get her another one and then she asked me what doll it was that got ruined. I laughed because she didnt even know what doll had gotten ruined yet she had told me it was her favorite.

Oh, that happened to my digital camera, but luckily I was able to save it in time.
When I was little, every doll I had was my favorite, I never really had one with batteries, except for the one that didn't really work right anyway and I got bored of. I was such a little mommy!

I loved my dolls to! I always had a doll with me wherever I went. I was so absent minded though because I would always loose them somewhere in a store and no one would turn them in so I could get them. So my mother would always be so nice and buy me the same doll again. I remember specifically this on mouse I had I lost 3 times and each time she got me a new one. My daughters digital camera got ruined from the batteries corroding in it. I wasent able to save it :(
