What if you were in a digging camp?

What would you do if, like stanley, you were trapped in a digging camp knowing that you were innocent. Would you stay or would you escape clearly knowing how far away the nearest town is.

I suppose when I was the age of the boys in this book I would have tried to escape for sure. At the age I am now, I might stick it out and try to learn what lesson I have been given from the challenge. Wasn't Holes a good book? Did you see the movie? It was pretty good too.

I would probably stay because the way to the nearest town is too far and I'd worry about not getting there. But it would depend how long my sentence was. If I was going to be forced to stay there for more than a year, I'd probably go crazy and just try to run for it anyway.
