so does anyone think the new movie is going to do justice to the book?

most likely not, but I like a good trashy vampire flick nearly as much as I like a good trashy vampire book. which is exactly what Twilight is.

Twilight is the ultimate guilty pleasure, isn't it. hehe. can't stop reaching for it when I want cosy vampire related storytelling though. but then my first ever ever crush was on Louis from Interview with the vampire

just to add, love Anita Blake books too. albeit in not the same way as Twilight. Twilight has more tenderness to it.

I think movies are never really completely true to the book. It's hard to do so. I read an interview with the director on MTV's website and she said she took some 'liberties' with making the movie. Plus, it's not like they could find a real guy to look as good as a hot vampire like Edward, lol. I always prefer the book to the movie, but I am still looking forward to the movie. I am going into it knowing not to expect it to be identical to the book.

I hope they don't leave anything good out either. I just know that in that MTV interview the director made a comment like 'in the book Stephenie might take 30 pages to describe a setting, whereas in the movie we can show/explain it all in only 3 seconds' Either way, I'm excited for it. And I'm sure it'll be good even if it isn't exactly like the book.

yeah that's probably a good idea.. although you have to admit it is a little dissapointing that it's not going to be exactly the same. hopefully they won't cut any of the good parts!!!

I've read the books, and I watched the movie. I thought it was a fun movie to watch. I mean, its not going to get any awards for acting or whatever, but it was entertaining enough that I enjoyed my two hours inside the movie theater. I have to admit I did go in with low expectations, considering that movies based on books, don't usually turn out the way I want. Still, I feel the movie try to stick with the book plot, but made changes that is necessary for a film format. It's actually funny how some poignant scenes in the book came out slightly humorous on the film, but I'm fine with that. I dragged a friend who has not read the books, and when the movie was over she love the film, and I have to accompany her to the bookstore to grab the book. So, I guess..the movie has its own charm.

Here is hoping that it does, but I have my doubts. Most books that I have read of the caliber of the Twilight series are never well done. But I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised and find the movie as great as the novels.

I have seen some previews for it and also seen part of the fight scene and i have to say No it wont. I major thing is that i think the guy they got to play Edward is not good looking.

will I get slapped if I say, from physical description, I don't find Edward that attractive. certainly the first description of him, I thought, oh that's really not main guy material. but. it's his mannerisms, facial expressions and so on that make him appealing.

Maybe not. Very rarely that books made into movies do justice to the book. I read that Stephenie Meyer helped choose the actors/actresses who portrayed Bella and Edward and she was also there during the filming. Well I guess, she tried to make the movie do justice to the book. We'll see.

Are movies ever as good as the book? Never. But I always like to read the book before I see the movie. But the books are good and unless they really butcher it - like with Eragon - it should still be good.

Mostly movies don't do justice to the book, but I'm still waiting for it. I love my Twilight book so I can't wait to see Edward and Bella in action.
