Hi, buddies, today is traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn festival. In China, it's a time for a family reunion. Many people, no matter how har from hometown they are, they always try to get home to have dinner together with their families and appreciate the full moon if the evening is clear, while enjoying the mooncakes, which are a must during the Mid-Autumn Festival. There are celebration programmes broadcast live on TV, residents set off firecrakcers and fireworkers. Some people offer up a sacrifice to Chinese Gods. As there are more overseas Chinese people now, some places abroad are said to celebrate the festival. Have you ever seen are head about it? I'm wonderng at this.

Yes, we do celebrate Mid-Autumn festival in Malaysia. But we do not celebrate it as big as Chinese New Year. We will have dinner with family, but those family members who are working or studying abroad wont come back for this festival. After dinner, kids will play lantern while the adults will enjoy eating mooncakes outside the house.

Oh, I didn't know that. In my memory, kids don't play lanterns on the Mid-Autumn Evening, instead, they do that on the Lantern Festival, which falls on January 15 based on Chinese calendar.

Hello there, I live in the Philippines and we do celebrate the mid autumn festival. As far as I can remember, we've always celebrated it with my relatives in someone's house. Usually the winner from the previous year will host the party and will pay for the food. Aside from eating, we also play the dice game. I don't know if you do this in China as well, but the dice game's really fun. Some say it's a game of luck, so the winners are bound to be lucky for the rest of the year.

We rarely play the dice game. People usually sit together drinking and eating, chatting and feeling the love, caring, warmth. Is the mid-Autumn festival popular in Philippine or just your part?
