Will you be going to see 'The Women'?

I have seen previews and newspaper ads for this new movie 'The Women' released 12th September. I think it has a great cast starring Jada Pinkett Smith, Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, and Annette Bening. I thought I'd look it up online as I am interested in going to watch it at the cinema (or even better download it at home!:-D) and found that it was originally a 1939 film, then made into Broadway productions, made into a musical film and now the contemporary remake in 2008! Wow The website is pretty good and has a trailer so have a peek http://thewomenthemovie.com/index.html Do you think you'll go see this movie? Any reasons why? I was interested due to the cast but having seen the story line and trailer, I am quite intrigued If you've seen the movie, any comments?

I have not seen the movie. But that is one movie I'm going to get when come's out on DVD. As I will take up to my Mom and we can watch it togeghter. As she doesn't get to movies and I don't. So I wait till they come out and had a few when I go upnorth to her house or she come's down here. She makes popcorn and we have a movie night. of two movies or more. They are all very good so it should be a very good movie. Have a nice day my friend. Your friend onlydia

Can't recall seeing Annette Bening in anything else so do remind me if you know...The name didn't sound familiar. Like Meg Ryan too and all the others; they all look great

Maybe who knows.if my partner is able to go then we may make a trip to the cinema,I love the cinema and everything about it,and the storylines always seem better than when you watch the film on DVD,the surround sound makes the film much more realistic, the large screen is easier to the eye.I reckon I will take a look at the trailer as you have posted the link for us here at mylot, and if the trailer looks very temptting then we may well go.we have a big cinema complex near here,so it would be no hassle to go.

There are two reasons why I won't go to see the film. One, I am real hard on remakes and two, I have seen and I loved the original. In fact, TCM aired the original just the other night so I am good. I just saw my favorite so I Really have no desire to see the remake.

No, it didn't. The 39 version is dated. There are a few lines that a feminist would absolutely hate but it is a great film anyway.I hope you get to see it.

The Women - The Women - Jada Pinkett
Tempted to watch the original too and I am sure it will get a few more airs because of the remake.. Should be interesting comparing the two, this one has a lesbian (acted by Jada Pinkett) in it which is an interesting add on to encompass all types of women; I was thinking maybe the 1939 one didn't have that?

It appears to be a powerful movie and I will surely see it if it goes on cable. I rarely have the chance to go to a cinema to watch movies.

Thanks for the trailer link...I love all of these stars, would love to go see the movie. I guess I really do not even know what the storyline is, but the cast alone is good enough to intrigue me. I am thinking it is what my hubby would call a "chick flick" so maybe I can get a girlfriend to go with me. I really do not think hubby would be interested...lol

I would love to go and see this movie. I have seen previews for a while and it looks pretty good. However, with two young babies it is very unlikely that I will be able to go.

The Women - The Cast from 'The Women'
I guess when you manage to sneak in some 'me-time'... I haven't been to cinema in a while too and I'd only even think it if I have a free sitter! Tend to download them at home.. Maybe you could wait till it's available to download which is what I might do after reading a few more reviews

I saw it with a group of girl friends on friday and it was funny. The cast was one of the reasons I wanted to see it as well plus I'm a fan of comedies.

I'm really late to this discussion but I just got done watching this movie about an hour ago and I loved it. I can understand the earlier poster who said she didn't want to watch the remake because she'd loved the original. If I'd seen the original I might have felt the same way because I agree, some movies probably shouldn't be remade and often if you see the first one any others will be a disappointment. This one had a fantastic cast and it was very well acted. Annie
