Recently, about a month ago, I've stopped smoking (Yes, finally!). I middle aged and have a kid, so cancer scare have become more real for me. Sad thing, I just was diagnosed with a "fatty Liver". Researching, I found out it also has a high predisposition to cancer. Oh great, I hope not. I have also stopped eating microwavable popcorn, months back news said somethin' that it could also cause it. Does it scares you too? What little measures you have done to prevent any form of cancer? Thanks and happy mylotting to all!!!

The good thing about fatty liver is that you can reverse it, if you lose weight. My husband also has mild fatty liver and they told him to lose weight and he could lose this problem. We've been exercising, eating more fruits and vegetables, and trying to have more fun. Cancer scares me so much. I am afraid of getting it and watching a loved one get it. Congrats on quitting smoking!

Hi, thanks for your comment. But the thing is, I have already lost some 30lbs since May... Like you, I'm into exercise and diet. This problem was only seen recently. But only also had check-up last week after a year. Yeah, I was also told to modify my diet. Thanks and happy mylotting!

I am young, but I also feel scared when I heard of cancer. I don't smoke, but I have a bad habit of being choosy in food. I am always afraid of morning die. What a terrible dream.

As a preventive measure against cancer, I take vitamin C supplements (1,000mgs a day). I also drink pineapple juice when I can, and I choose tomato-based meals since tomatoes are rich in cancer-preventing lycopene. Also, when eating roasted or grilled food, scrape off the burnt parts since carbon is a known carcinogen. Better yet, stick to fried or steamed foods instead.
