My fiance's mother came in to the room while we were using the computer and our laptop, and showed me a piece of paper that had an ad for a "couples ring" it's very beautiful and can be engraved with both of our names, and it has our birthstone on it. The ring is also a gold plated ring, and very cheap. You can find it at www.limogesjewelry.com it is the one that says sweetest day on it. It's a very beautiful ring, and my official engagement ring. Have you ever had a cracker jack diamond until you got an official engagement ring? Where did you get yours? Out of an actual cracker jack box or cheap at Wal * Mart? My fiance and I got my first engagement ring at Wal * Mart, and it is is purple like the color of his birthstone, and my favorite color. When he first proposed to me I thought it was sweet, even if it was unofficial. The first official proposing was with the Wal * Mart ring, and it was just as sweet. I was watching t.v. in the den when he was sneakingly grabbing candles from various rooms. He told me he was "rearranging" and I was so deep in the television show that I hardly noticed he left the room. When he told me to come into the room, I was amazed. It was beautifully lit with candles, and he had the remote to our c.d. player in which he had paused our song. When I came in, he played the song and then told me to sit down while he got down on knee and proposed. It was a beautiful moment, and everything he said to me was so beautiful. I teared up because of the beauty of his words. I am so glad that I met him. What do ya'll think of the ring? Do you like it?

Mine's a mixture of a treasure hunting comedy movie like experience. We go on for a mall hopping sort of trip looking for a ring. I thought that he would give it to his mom and just asking for my opinion because we really haven't talked about engagement or getting married. When he finally found the one he liked, he immediately paid for it and asked the saleslady to wrap it. While we are walking he asked me if I could try the ring on. Then he asked me to marry him. I answered him are you joking? and he said no, he was serious. I was looking at him laughing and he told me to stop laughing because he is emoting. Sort of a drama king I guess, he asked me again and I said yes. We went to wendy's to eat burger and fries when he once again asked me if I will marry him. I answered him "how will I tell my children our story if we're on wendy's? They'll surely laugh at us." But well, I said yes. At that time our engagement ring is a diamond surrounded by small diamonds on the side. Quite eye catching they say but after a few weeks of wearing the ring we saw that there is something wrong with the stone so the jeweler tried to exchange the ring for another. Unfortunately we haven't found something that we both like so we ended up having a wedding ring.

I read your story and thought that you had responded to me before. Maybe so, but not on this discussion, lol. Well I greatly appreciate your response to me and I think that that is a wonderful engagement story. Very classy and romantic, with him taking you to the store to pick the ring out for yourself. Sneaky as well! I appreciate your response, have a wonderful day.

It's a very nice ring. And how cute about the proposal. You got yourself a keeper there. My engagement ring has a saphire in it and six mini diamonds. My favorite color is blue and my husband didn't want to just get the traditional diamond. He must have gone to two dozen jewelry stores before he found 'the ring' he could also afford, lol. I love it. It was inexpensive, just somebody a student could afford, but still precious to me. My husband wants to trade it in eventually for a really good (aka expensive) ring, but I don't want to. I love the one I got;)

I told my fiance today that it doesn't matter what the price is, and I have to say I agree with you, I'd keep it too. You could always tell him he could get you a beautiful engraved bracelet if he wanted too, or something else that was engraved. Something simple, yet something that signified your love. Blue is a beautiful color, but I'm partial to purple myself. My fiance's is partial to red, and my birthstone is Ruby wherein his is amethyst. I appreciate the response.
