Yep, I had an epidural with both of mine.
I tried the gas, but it made me feel really sick, so I went for epidural - but then I couldn't push very well, and had to have a C-section.
The second time, I just asked for it, they gave it to me and I was pushing well, but a problem with the baby meant I needed an emergency C-section.
I was very lucky, no pain and no after-effects at all.

i had an epideral with both of mine the first one worked fine i couldn't even move my legs but the second one didn't do right i felt everything until they gave me morphine then of course that worked but if i had it to do all over again i would try natrual because i have alot of back pain now.

I myself had an epidural twice. I had two children and I was able to receive the injection in time for it to work properly. I am glad that I did get that needle. The needle was painful but it was worth it!
I did feel some contractions each time with my two sons but the epidural was administered before they got even worse. I have heard situations like yourself where epidurals don't always work.

well i owe the non working epidurle to my aunt she barged in the room and bent down to talk to me and this was when the pain was very bad but anyways i didnt realize anything had happen until i told the nurse i was feeling everything and she said well hit the button and all of a sudden the side of my head is soaked apperantly she had jerked the line out and i was to far along for them to do anything else i can rember yelling at the dr you just fing cut me that iam proud to say is the only swear word i said in labor
