If Rove Speaks Do Democrats Listen?

Seems like a funny or odd question to ask but, Rove has come out and said something about the smear ads going on currently with this election. I consider myself an Indenpendent that votes for Democrats more than Republicans but I have voted both ways in elections. Now as a Liberal when I read this article I was thinking to myself wow if Rove is saying it's out of hand then it must be worse than I thought, no wonder a member here keeps having rants about the election. This article does not say how the McCain Camp responded but the Obama Camp responded with this, "“In case anyone was still wondering whether John McCain is running the sleaziest, most dishonest campaign in history, today Karl Rove — the man who held the previous record — said McCain’s ads have gone too far.”" What are your thoughts on this? If Rove has pointed out the idiocy of this election do you believe that BOTH Camps will now relax and get focused? Do you think this is an example of the "pot calling the kettle black"? http://news.aol.com/elections/article/rove-quote-delights-democrats/173244?icid=200100125x1209370264x1200532296

Well, I find it noteworthy that Obama responded, not with acknowlagement of his own campaign's participation in this, but with a finger pointed at McCain's. It reminded me of times when I would scold my daughters for bickering and they would point fingers at each other, "well SHE started it!" I am hoping that McCain will respond at least with a more dignified reponse or at the very least, by toning it down some from here on out.

Well they first responded with this, ""When Karl Rove is questioning the legitimacy of your dishonest tactics, you really need to take a moment of self-reflection," Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan said (...)" I couldn't find any cite from the McCain Camp. Then Obama Camp responded with the other quote. If I would have put this quote in the discussion I would have taken a lot of heat about being bias and whatnot. I didn't see this actual interview I'm sure it would have been much better to see than read. No offense but I had you in mind when I read this. Have you been talking to Rove? lol

ROVE talks to ME....I am after all the professor, lol. Anyway if it makes you feel better, I have Fox nes on right now and Megan Kelli is BLASTING a McCain campaigner for dishonesty, he is of course defending himself but she has him squirming. But she is about to do the same thing to Obama's campaign manager in the next segment.

I highly doubt that the McCain camp will "relax and get focused" but it sure would be nice if we could finally start sticking to the issues. The bad thing about that is the McCain/Palin campaign is so oversensitive or paranoid - what you'd like to call it - that even talking about the issues is somehow spun to be an attack, especially anything at all regarding Palin. To me the very fact that Rove acknowledged that the McCain campaign has done anything wrong at all speaks volumes whether he said the same thing about the Obama campaign or not. Annie

Carl Rove is still the man behind the Republican Machine. He is a good one to talk about smear campaigns. Wonder why he has not responded to his supeona to the Congress yet???? Interesting how people like him never have to reponsd or be subject to the laws of the "people".

I guess Rove responding like this means that this election is probably the worst there can be lol. Like little children fighting on the playground.

I saw Karl Rove the other night on Fox News talking about this. As much as people don't like him or Mr. Morris they are usually right on target. I wish that both parties would concentrate on telling the American people what their policies are, I'm sure people think John Mc is just another Bush and I don't even know what Mr. Obama is going to do. I guess they can sling mud until the debates and then it won't be some commerical speaking for them, it will be them minus the script. Oooo, I can't wait!

I was thinking that there had to be something else that had happened. I was actually shocked that he did mention both candidates in the interview.

Kennyrose, "Obama supporters are not very educated, just don't get it, on welfare, party stuck, a kid without a clue?" And "people that make money, investors, business people, economists, etc. do not back Obama?" Yes, this must be the case with me. I am clearly a blubbering fool on welfare who can't find fault with her party, despite the fact that I work for the government on a state level, and therefore have money in the bank, as well as, other types of investment accounts. Clearly, I just don't get it. That is certainly the reason why I am voting for Obama. But wait, wasn't the richest man in the world recently quoted as being a supporter of Obama? Hunh? Seems like your ignorant stereotypes don't hold water, do they?

Wow, I just realized that I did exactly what Karl Rove has said we need to stop doing. I attacked someone else because I felt like I was being attacked. Hunh? I guess it's human nature.
