How did you meet your spouse/life partner?

I met my hubby from a chat channel (IRC) over the internet. I was in UK for my university and he was at college back in Malaysia. Both of us started chatting, not with the intention to find a boyfriend/girlfriend but out of curiosity. A friend of mine get to know her bf also from chatting and i thot it was weird. My hubby got his brother to introduce chatting to him. At first we were just friends but fall right in love after two or three weeks of chatting. It was like love at first sight, ;). He was such a sweetie and a caring person. He sent me virtual flowers, well.. who would not be flattered by that.. ;) We met in person after 6 months of chatting and fall very very much more in love. The long distance relationship makes us trust each other even more. We got married after 3 and a half years of 'dating' on and offline. And we still love each other as much as we first met, even more! :)

We met at a club. I was with a big group of friends. My husband had come there alone after work to hear his favorite local band. As I was going in the door to the club, he was going out. Our eyes met for just a moment. He turned right around and went back IN! He parked himself near the table my group had chosen. He would glance over at me occasionally. In my head I was thinking "Ask me to dance already!" He finally did. Later we found out that the evening we were at the club, was the LAST night they were ever open. It had been open for several years and they just closed up after that night. My husband says that once we had met, their work was complete. Why should they go on? Nothing could top that! The building is now a catering office and the club was never restarted.

I met my husband at church. My pastor likes to think he set us up but I think we would have gotten together without his nudging. We met in 1999, got engaged October 2000 and were married June 2 2001. We are very happily married, hardly ever fight and have 4 wonderful kids.

Before i use to stroll with my motorbike. That's how my husband saw me and i don't even know who he was then. I had a friend way back my elementary days and he told me his friend was asking for my housephone. So he started calling me and we we're inroduced formally. After that we started seeing each other and he courted me for a couple of months. Then we had a relationship for almost three years after that i got pregnant. Happy mylotting!

That is a really nice story, and just shows that not all online relationships are doomed to fail or are something to be wary of. I met my husband in our local nightclub, I was out with his cousin, she was my best friend and she introduced me too him. I thought he was really cute, but I was kinda seeing someone and so was he so nothing much happened. We made arrangements to meet up there the following week but none of us turned up! It was then about 3 months before our paths crossed again, and it was in the very same nightclub, and I was with the same friend. She told me he was in there and my heart just beat really fast and my legs went to jelly. He came up to me a little later and I asked him how he was and he said that he was fine, young free and single and I said that it was funny because so was I!! It went from there really and we never looked back. We have been married 7 years and together for 9.

well I would love to tell u how I met my Boyfriend or should i call him my fiance....Our engagement has not yet happened formally but i consider that when two hearts come together that is what marriage is!!!!sounds victorian???? well may be .... but thats what we Indians think(at least most of us:-)) ....... I was desperate to fall in love cos from my childhood I dreamed of Mr. Right like every girl...but more so cos my parents too had a love marriage!!!! and they love each other sooo much....tch wood. i worked in a company where I could only get attracted to jerks.... and i immediately used to broach the subject of marriage which would send them running miles away... some tried their luck however i was not this "going around types"( I needed commitment).I gave up hope and started concentrating on other things in life like dance which iam passionate abt. ....then one day i was browsing and i got a message in a portal from a guy. I checked out his profile... seemed ok so i replied...we met when i went to his city for a dance performance....... we became the best of friends ( and seriusly i did not feel physically attracted to himat all) and for the first time I did not think "Is he my Mr. Right?" and ........... guess what, he was!!!!. After 4 months of confusion and denial to ourselves that it was just friendship and not love(both of us thought love would complicate matters) he proposed.....and i accepted:-). the first time we met after that he gave me a ring and .....its been 1 and a half years now. I thank my lucky stars...though we live in in differnt cities and meet only once in a month or once in two months, the days when we are together are like poetry...its so beautiful...........feels like we are already married...... so that is my story..........:-)

I met my husband during my teen years in a community we used to live in. I was a 'kabataang barangay' councilor of one unit and he belongs to another unit. But he would see me everytime we have community meetings. I never noticed him until a friend introduced me to him and from then on he was always visible where I was. He was trying to get my attention and he succeeded after a long while.

I thought I had met her in a library, this girl I fell in love with at first sight. We had a relationship for two years, and broke up. And now however much I try, I find it difficult to love anyone else-it's only her I love.

Actually my husband and I knew each other from high school. He said he fell in love with me the first time he saw me. However, we didn't get together until many years later. We saw each again and a mutual friends party, and after that, we started talking on the phone with each other more and more. He lived about three hours away from me at the time. I decided to go visit him one day, and I fell in love with him that weekend. I moved in with him, and we got married. It all happened very quickly, but we love each other very much.

Right now we're just enjoying our selves together. I myself don't know if she's going to be my partner in life but I think she does. Well it's ok if we're really going to be like that. I mean she's really kind not to mention really cute too. But who knows. No one can tell what will happen in the future. What I'm sure now is that I really love her.

You know, that is really cool. I've always known it is very possible to find love on the internet when you just take your time. Two years ago, for about a year I was speaking with this handsome gentleman in Melbourne, Australia. He called me 2-3 times per week and we spent like an hour or so on the phone. Mind you at 9:00 pm my time here in Maryland was his time noon over in Australia. He sent many pictures from his travels; born in Greece than moved to Australia at a young age. Unfortunately we have lost touch; actually I think he had found someone. He did try to make plans to visit me, but things didn't work out that way so I'm thinking it just wasn't meant to be. Congratulations to you and hubby!!
