Child Support Obligations..

I raised three kids by myself, I have always worked so, I never could get any government help, food stamps, welfare, etc. I had my children father put up for child support, but back in those days they didn't put that much stress on child support, and when he didn't pay I would have to go back to the court house, I got tired of going to the court house so I just gave up on it and did the best I could. Those days are behind me now and my children are grown ups and doing good on their own.
My questions is:
Is you Ex, meeting his child support obligations?
If you owe child support are you supporting your child/children?

I am still in marriage and I do support my child. Even If things had to go wrong in my marriage I would never dream of not supporting my child. I would never do anything to harm my child. I think those fathers who stop child support are ego centred and do so to annoy their ex without realising that they are harming their own kids.

You are so correct, ronald! These fathers believe that the money is going to their ex's only, so they won't pay. They don't see that it makes it even harder on the mother when she has to work extra hard to make ends meet and the children often don't get everything they need. In my own case, I ended up working three part time jobs to make ends meet. That meant that I couldn't spend as much time with my children as I should have. They suffered because of their father's stupidity.

I know this question is a bit old but ... NO my daughter's sperm donor is not meeting his obligation. We went to court - he's obligated to pay 55% of daycare and medical on top of a weekly fee. We spoke many many time about it he said wow I dont know if I could keep up blah blah blah. (he's job less... seen my daughter for a total of 3 hours in 22 months)... So I finally with much delibration took him to court. Because I have NO PROOF of medical and daycare (which is over $2000 alone...) that is not counted for. I took him to court for the judge to say ... hey get a job! you have 5 kids at age 31 no job and no sign of stopping or changing... but it didn't happen. HE's on welfare recieving food stamps. On top of that ... he is only ALLOWED to have 2 of the five children live with him due to child abuse investagations. Child support enforcement is a joke but I'll keep taking him to court until I can't no longer... just for principal. :)

Hi Chevee,
wow...you're tough and strong woman! Anyway, I have no kids but I have a friend whose husband has a kid from previous marriage and very dedicated in his child support, she is not working yet and she will tell me that it's hard for them but her husband cannot also just tolerate his obligations to the kid!

Hi Chevee,
I can never underatand why ex husbands have to be chase to pay for his children surely he helped to create them so he should pay for them without thinking, sometimes I think men are so selfish. I have no children and I am still with my husband now for 28 years.
Hugs
Tamara
