Or do you fall into the middle range? Im more of a cleaner outer, I dont like alot of things I do find getting rid of books a big thing for me too, I love to read. However when things start taking over I cant stand it and so I start "spring" cleaning but it is not just in the spring. However my loving hubby is a total pack-rat! He will keep everything stating we might use it "someday" or as I say some year! I have finally started handing him his "treasures" and told him out in the garage. I think it can honestly almost drive a person batty with all this stuff that can hang around if you dont do something about it. I also think that you feel better when things are not as packed and you can move freely. So what are you? Pack-Rat? Cleaner-outer? In between?? Happy Mylotting

hi, Ithink. i am in between i am a pack-rat and sort of obsessive-compulsive about wanting to get everything in our house in order. it drives me crazy when things are not arranged or in their proper places -- and how can i maintain that when there are so many things i keep? and my husband is also a pack-rat with the same "someday" line LOL! have a great day!

Hi there, I know that feeling on wanting everything being in place and yet having so much that it is really not realistic. I finally got fed up and just started to get rid of things. I have to say it feels good to see the end product, thou sometimes I still think it would be nice to keep it all! LOL! I also know the hubby thing to well. Mine tries to keep everything, I said tries because if I get rid of something that I know he doesnt use and wont use, he never misses it. Well almost never! LOL Oh by the way, I noticed your name started with Raine ... that is what I named my granddaughters middle name with, spelled that way too! Happy Mylotting

Well, I know what I am, the hard thing is to change. I am a pack-rat hermit. I love to keep the house dark. Little light, curtains closed. Pack my treasures all over the house. I am starting to get to much. I know this because I have to walk around somethings. My thing is I want to buy, to sell it and make money. But I never get around to the sell it part. The buy it I have down to a fine art. I have skills. Garage sale ppl give me stuff free just to leave. Because, I will pick slowly thru everything and ask a million questions. They get tired of answering me and just say oh, take it it's free. I say thank you and leave. I know that is a bad thing to do but I can't seem to stop. So, here i sit in my cave of wonders. The Pack-Rat Hermit. Will I be buried alive?

I have ran into the same problem with getting things to sell on line. My problem is that our life has changed and I now have 2 little ones at home. They keep me so busy during the day it is hard to do anything at all and at night Im ready to collapse. LOL! Have you thought of having your own yard sale? Me I love light and the more the better so my curtains are always wide open, my downfall as I said is books so they are easy enough to store but I do have other things that I need to decide on what to do with and soon! I honestly dont like clutter but it is hard to get rid of some things.

I hate to say it but I have packrat tendencies...I get it from my Mom and grandma. I do fight it though as much as I can. I tend to save things but then I hit a point when I go on a spring cleaning thing and just about everything goes. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

I gotta say I am in the middle. I will go yard-saling and say oh hun I gotta have this or oh that is so pretty. And after a while of me getting to much stuff I start tossing the stuff or turning back around and sale the stuff. Now on the other hand my hubby is pretty much a pack rat. Our bedroom closet is full of stuff. He even has cloths from like 6 grade. He is 24 now I mean come on how long do you have to keep the cloths and he always tells me that is sentalmental or hey I like that wrestler or that is a good band. I'm always saying hun throw them out and go buy new ones to replace them. He always says no. He even has a box of stuff that I will not mention because of some young people being on here. The thing is that he does not do anything with the stuff so I always ask him please get rid of it cause I'm not in to that kind of stuff. He always says no that they are sentalmental. I swear he drives me nuts. So one day I was going through stuff and he of course was at work so I started tossing the cloths from the 6 grade out. So far "knock on wood" he has not noticed. LOL

It seems with some that is the only way of getting rid of some of their stuff is to sneak it into the garbage or to the Salvation Army. Actually anywhere is almost better then in the house on some items!

Funny isnt it you would thing that a person that throws everything away would also be organized. I guess it never is as we think it should be. Thanks for commenting.

In between...I have spurts where I do get alot cleaned out then there are times I try and just can't justify getting rid of something I MIGHT use....is seems like when I do get rid of something I usually need it the next week!

I do it in spurts at times too, most of it is books, my biggest downfall. Hubby sounds like you. Says whenever he throws something away he ends up needing it. I dont know if I buy into it yet.. lol Thanks for commenting.

By nature I am a Pack-Rat and so is my hubby. Not a good combination. But sometimes I say "I must clean this out" and I will work dilligently for awhile. However, I keep seeing things and thinking, "but what if we need it later". And of course, books are very hard to toss out.

The books are almost impossible for me to toss! I told hubby if something hasnt been used in years he most likely will never use it, his answer is always, "You never know". I have started drawing the line of it coming into the house!
