Isn't Anakin Skywalker a little like Jesus gone bad? You know... the whole virgin birth following the prophecy thing, and all that crap...

He's more like Lucifer, the bringer of light that ended up plunging in darkness... Yeah, seriously now, I think Lucas intended it to be that way. It is also said that Anakin was a son of Darth Plagueis the Wise, Palpatine's master who could create life from the Force. Lucas never confirmed that though.
