She just recently Sold her home, and is in the process of packing and Selling off all of their stuff. There are moving from Tacoma, WA all the way to Acme, PA, so in reality, they are moving clear across the USA. So now I will not have any of my family who will live close to me. I do have a brother about 2 hrs. from here that just moved back to WA, but he and I do not ever speak anymore, so I will be all alone. Thank goodness I am Married and have my husband. Since my Mom died last yr. my little sister was the only one I keep in contact with.
So, are you close with your family, and do they live close by, or are they spread out all across the USA as well?

My immediate family still all live in the same small town that we grew up around. I am the only one who has left and lived in many other states throughout my life. And I have one married sister who now lives in the state bordering ours. Right now, we are all within a good driving distance for going to my parents' house for holidays etc. (even I am closer now), though.

Thank goodness for phones and emails! I moved, basically across the country the other way, from Texas to PA, 3 1/2 years ago. My parents, sister and youngest daughter still all live there, my oldest daughter lives in Virginia now, she moved there from Texas shortly after I moved, her husband is stationed there in the Army. I'm making plans to go back for Christmas this year, even though my s/o won't be able to go with me. We haven't been together at Christmas since '04, and I havent' seen my parents and youngest daughter in two years. It helped me a lot that my family was supportive of my decision to move so far away.

wow !
i lived in uniontown, pa.
what is in acme?
a job must have caused this big move.
i am an only child.
and, my only child is married and her husband is stationed in 29 palms, california.
with the advent of the computer, however, i am not lonely for her.
oh, for a hug or kiss from her....but we keep in touch.
if you and your sister both get webcams and microphones it's ALMOST
like she's still there with you. but, you're right it's clear across
the US.

Everyone is my family is right here (Ohio)in the same area except my younger sister who lives in Virginia.
I did live in Tennessee for 8 months. It was so hard for me to be away from my family and friends. I don't know how people do it.. but they do!
I am sorry that she has to move away, maybe she will have the internet and you can e-mail her daily, or instant message each other.

Awww..., don't feel bad. My sister moved to Hong Kong. I never know from day-to-day where in the world, her oldest girl is. Her youngest girl lives seven hours from me. I have my son nearby, who is very special to my heart.

Don't you hate that? I like my family living close to me, at least in the same city. I have two sisters, they both live far far away in different parts of the country. I am thankful I still have my mom and she lives in the same city I do. I can't imagine moving across the country, I am a homebody.

I'm sorry to hear that your sister will be moving. I know how you feel. I'm real close to my baby sister and I cried when she moved just an hour away. She comes to see us every other weekend. During college and when I got married I lived 2 hours away from my family and I had missed them dearly everyday. I would come see them every other weekend and after my divorce I moved in with my parents. She will call you just about everyday. My sister call me about 3 times a day, everyday.

Tina,
I really feel what you're saying here. I miss my family so much. I was really close to mother and my brother as a child. They live in other areas as well. Too far to visit as often as I would like. Unlike you; I have no husband. So, it's hard. My friends have become my family of sorts. Love them muchly.
Life is so odd in modern days with our world's life-style. It's lovely in many ways; but odd in others. I often think about that.

I understand how difficult it is to live away from everyone you know. Although, my family and I, for the most part are not close, being in a different state with only my 12 year old son is sometimes a little frightening for me. I often think, what would happen if something happened to me? Who would know or notify my family. I live in Arizona and I have family that lives in Ohio, Colorado and California. At least you do have your husband. As much as you might miss your sister, you can at least take comfort in knowing your husband is with you.

I am in the UK. I only really have my parents as family and although we live really near to each other we do not really see much of each other. We have never been really really close so it is not unusual for us not to see each other for months at a time. Sorry that your sister has moved though, with you being close I guess it would be really hard.
