We got a lab puppy in March and I am just wondering at what age are they full grown. The vet said that he would be about 85 lbs. But the last month he does not seem to be growing as much as he did and I was just wondering if by a year old he would be full grown or what? I have never had one so I don't know.

Hi... ALL dogs are full grown at 1 year old. Your vet is correct, he should weigh between 75 & 85lbs, depending on the type of Lab that he is. As dogs get older, they tend to eat less, and will grow at a slower pace. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If he's NOT eating very much at all, he may not like the food you are feeding him. Some dogs get fussy when they get older. Try starting him back on some kibble and see how he does. Keep the meat and treats down to as little as possible, and above all, don't give him any human food, or scraps from the table. Labs have been known to eat just about anything that's put in front of them. Sometimes they'll get into the waste basket, and chew up tissue etc. So just keep your eye on him, and try out that kibble idea. Let me know how things turn out. crazydaisy

Puppies grow just like children, in spurts. He will be about at his full grown size by 1 year, maybe a little older. Labs are very good dogs, they are very smart and will do anything to please their owners. I have had a lab, I now have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, which are sometimes mistaken for Chocolate Labs.
