Ice cream or gelato?

There's a thin line separating ice cream from Italian ice cream (or Gelato). It tastes quite the same, but Ice cream has more cream while gelato has more milk (am I correct?!!) Anyway, I've been a fan of both. Having a sweet tooth means that I can hardly resist these wonderful treats! But I think I prefer gelato, just because it comes in so many really good and unique flavors. Of course, if there were Ben and Jerry's kiosks in the malls here in the Philippines then I'd have to re-think my love affair with gelato. But for now, it's gelato over ice cream for me! What about you?

I have to say ice cream over gelato, but that's because I was raised on Baskin Robin's 31 Flavors ice cream. I recently has some gelato down in Tucson and was really surpirsed at the rich flavor. It is suppose to be better for you than ice cream. I read the brochure they had on it, but I can't remember all of it know. They really have some different flavors too.

Hi there! I'm a fan of ice creams! I love chocolate flavors especially those with nuts and cookies. I can consume a pint in a day and I eat with something salty like potato chips. Hmmm... gelato? I have never tasted it but I would love to try one. What flavor do you think is best in gelato?

i've never had a gelato before. there's a place in the mall that sells it and i eye it every time i'm there. once day i'm gonna try it. i can see that they both test great but with a different texture. i've had ice cream and something else called guri guri from where i grew up. it wasn't ice cream because it had a more 'icy' texture to it then creamy. from what you say, i'd say they'd be about the same. i don't hold favorites, if it tastes good, i'll eat it!
