Ok, It's my turn, again. I get my jury summons like clock work, and have been called in every time except once. I was selected and served on a jury once. I will tell you all about it, but first I would like to hear from some of you as to why or why not would you serve or want to serve on a jury. (Regardless of the type of case.) Anyone being summoned for a first time?

I have never been summonded for jury duty. I want to be called i think it would be fun in some way. In the state that i live in you have to show up or the will put a warrent out for you. they dont play here. A friend of mine got called a back in March she got to the last 14 then she got cut. The strange thing was i also know the person that was on trial. that a long story that i dont feel like telling lol. but i would like to be called. i want to do my duty as an american. i am not sure why i have not ever been called. Maybe my letter will come tomorrow oh i would be so happy! :)

well, I don't feel like a lot of people that it is the plague. But, yes I was curious. And it is a serious matter, and they don't play around here either. And they let you know they are taking any frivolous excuses. Some holier than thou folks have made it difficult for those who have legitimate reasons and shouldn't have to serve. On receiving a summons, here the County draws it's list by Voter Registration and DMV records. So, if you haven't registered to vote or registered a vehicle in your name, then you wouldn't be on the list. I hope you do get the opportunity to! I think everyone should, as you say at least once.
