i'm not a chinese but i tried to copy them when i was a kid. i went to a place where they served steamboats and i looked at the chinese patrons and wondered "how did they do that?" and so my sister and i asked for chopsticks and when we got them we imitate the people. then we got frustrated and poke the meatballs at the center with one stick and place the other on the side to look like we were using the chosticks the real way. lol. i also failed my first few attempts with noodles. i used them to guide the noodles into my mouth while i slurp the soup :P

Hi there m_rdzy! By culture, we do not really use chopsticks regularly. But I know how to use chopsticks. I often use chopsticks when we go out and eat in Chinese restaurants. Or, other restaurants that offer Asian cuisine. I learned how to use chopsticks at an early age so I can say that I am expert in using chopsticks.

I'm a chinese, but i'm very bad in using my chopsticks.. haha =D One thing is because i'm a left handed person, and the other thing is, my dad taught me the wrong way of holding chopsticks and thus, i ended up with a funny way of using it.. lol =D ANd i guess it's hard for my parents to teach me too because right hand is different from left hand, and thus they din really take notice of it, just told me, as long as i can pick up food with my chopsticks, it will be fine.. haha

i rarely see leftie chinese so i wonder how you use chopsticks if you're a leftie. my way (though i'm not a leftie) if you can hold a pencil you can hold the chopsticks. haha :P but maybe it's hard for you since you're the only leftie and your parents aren't so they can't teach you properly because it feels awkward for both of them. good luck with the chopsticks (i'm never good with my left hand)

I am a huge fan of oriental foods, but I stink at using chopsticks. I am not coordinated enough to use chopsticks. I have tried it multiple times, but I usually get frustrated and end up using a fork...

i eat noodles with fork, spoon, chopstick and hand (depends on the need and/or laziness. haha) i'm pretty ok with chopsticks. when i go out and have sizzling chicken and mushroom yee mee (egg noodle) i usually request for chopsticks although i can eat it with fork and spoon. i think it's just the weird feelings i have not eating noodles with chopsticks when there's some available for use

I'm a Chinese, and I can say that I can use the chopstick pretty well. When eating noodles, I use chopsticks most of the time, unless there's no chopsticks provided or available and I have to use fork and spoon instead. Sometimes I use chopsticks to eat rice too, especially in Chinese restaurants where rice normally come in bowls instead of plates. Even though I see myself as being able to use the chopstick pretty well, I have seen and observed people who can use chopsticks much better than me and I am actually still trying to improve my grip and handling of chopsticks...haha, I'm the type of guy that always strives to improve myself in every area in my life!

I don't think I'm really good in handling it. I tried it before I didn't have any luck at all. I'd rather use spoon and fork to it.

I don't think I know how to use them properly like the Chinese, but I can manage my noodles with chopsticks. I think it is an important skill to learn. Sometimes when we go to a Korean restaurant, that's how we have to eat so better learn it.

I think that I can do really good with chop sticks. I can eat rice (white, fried, etc.) with chop sticks. I don't think that I am good enough to eat everything with it, but that is probably mostly because I am lazy and like to eat with forks and spoons. Although as much as I like eating with forks and spoons I do enjoy the fun of chop sticks here and there. Oh, and I am not asian and I was only taught how to hold chop sticks, the rest I taught myself.
